Chris Christian is the debut album by Christian singer - songwriter Chris Christian. Recorded in 1976, it was released in early 1977 by Myrrh/Word Records. Christian co-produced the album with his college friend Brown Bannister.
While Christian was working on albums by Amy Grant and The Imperials, Christian was working on his own album, showcasing his vocal and musicianship skills. Christian was the first to record the Bannister-penned "Mountain Top," which Grant later recorded for her debut release. Christian's wife Shanon Smith wrote the track "Hallelujah."
Chris Christian was reissued and remastered in 2020 on CD and jointly released by Christian's label Home Sweet Home and Retroactive Records and contains a bonus track "I Don't Have a Prayer Without You," plus photos and liner notes written by Christian himself.
