Coming From Somewhere Else is a collaboration album by musicians and songwriters Gordon Kennedy, Wayne Kirkpatrick, Phil Madeira and Billy Sprague.

It was released on October 24, 2000 by Rocketown Records with distribution by Word Distribution and later by Provident Label Group.

Going collectively by their last names, Kennedy, Kirkpatrick, Madeira & Sprague, this project highlights their songwriting skills and musical talents. Coming From Somewhere Else was intentionally the first of a series of albums titled Rocketown Writers Series showcasing songwriters and musicians, but remains its only release. Combined, they've won Grammy and Dove Awards with their signature songs like "Change the World," made famous by Eric Clapton, "Via Dolorosa," "Place in This World," "Everywhere I Look" and others with them giving their own acoustic spins. Kennedy, Kirkpatrick, Madeira & Sprague produced the album themselves. Coming From Somewhere Else blends their harmonies reminiscent of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. The title song is the only original track while the other nine songs are familiar tracks that were recorded by other artists that the collective group have written.

The album also features additional musicians like Phil Keaggy with a guitar solo on "Everywhere I Look," which Keaggy originally recorded on his 1993 album Crimson and Blue, Steve Hindalong on percussion, Christer Jannson on drum loops, Jimmie Lee Sloas on bass guitar and Chris McHugh on drums among others.
