Deep Roots (2013)

Deep Roots is the 18th studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman. It was released exclusively by Cracker Barrel Old Country Store on March 11, 2013 and sold at their Cracker Barrel stores. Chapman produced the album with Brent Milligan.

Deep Roots showcases Chapman's love of bluegrass music featuring his classic hits and hymns. Guests on this album include Chapman's father and brother Herb Chapman Sr. and Jr., Chapman's son Celeb, his daughter-in-law and indie folk pop singer Jillian Edwards and country/bluegrass legend Ricky Skaggs. Skaggs has appeared with Chapman before on his Great Adventure album. Five of those tracks (*) later appeared on the updated 2019 sequel Deeper Roots: Where the Bluegrass Grows.
