Evie Synger (1972)
Evie Synger (translated as Evie Sings) is second studio and first Norwegian language album by Christian singer Evie. It was released on the Norwegian label Klango in 1972. Evie Synger was an essential part of her early career development. Because she was born to Norwegian immigrants in the United States, she spent summers visiting her family’s homeland in Norway. During these trips, her singing voice caught the attention of Scandinavian Christian music producers, sparking a series of successful localized releases. The album features some familiar songs like "Put You Hand in the Hand of the Man" (sung in English) and some Norwegian-sung tracks like the George Beverly Shea hymn "Jeg Vil Heller Ha Jesus" ("I'd Rather Have Jesus"), plus songs by Bill Gaither, Edwin Hawkings and Dottie Rambo. Evie Synger was produced by Kjell Hansen.
