Love Them While We Can (1983)

Love Them While We Can is the sixth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Chris Christian. It was released in March 1983 by Christian's record label Home Sweet Home and Myrrh/Word Records. Christian produced the album himself.

After the moderate success of his 1981 self-titled mainstream album, Christian returns to Christian music with Love Them While We Can. The title song speaks of honoring one's parents as Christian dedicates the album to his parents. The album's lead single "Put Your Trust (In the Hands of Jesus)" was another Top 5 hit on the Christian radio charts. White Heart's Mark Gersmehl wrote two songs on the album with the title song and "Give Up Yourself" while Christian wrote five songs and co-writing three.

Love Them While We Can was reissued in 1994 on CD by Home Sweet Home Records with a different track listing. The track "Light at the End of the Darkness" (from his 1981 album Just Sit Back) replaces "We're Our Only Captain" that was on the original LP. "We're Our Only Captain" can be found in his 1999 compilation CD The Collection Vol. 2: 1983 - 1999.
