Obvious is the seventh studio album by the Christian music male vocal group 4Him, released on April 7, 1998 by Benson Records. The album is produced by the group themselves with Bill Baumgart and Michael Omartian.
On Obvious, each member took more ownership of their music and became more involved in the production and songwriting aspects. Mark Harris, who is the main principled songwriter of 4Him since 1990, has co-written ten of the album's 11 tracks with two songs he wrote by himself. Andy Chrisman co-wrote the track "Signs and Wonders" and Marty Magehee has co-written two songs, all with Harris. 4Him and Baumgart produced seven songs while Omartian produced four songs. This is the first album in which Don Koch has not been involved in the production of this album, as he has done in previous albums.
Obvious debuted and peaked at number 2 on the Top Christian Albums and number 95 on the Top 200 Albums charts in Billboard magazine. A music video for their third single "Before the RIver Came" was made to promote the album.
This would be the last music video that 4Him will make during their run as a group.
