Remember/Recuerda (1992)
Remember is the fourth studio album by American singer - songwriter Crystal Lewis. It was released around July 1992 and is the first album released under the newly-formed independent label, Metro One, that Lewis and her then-husband Brian Ray created. Ray produced the album.
After three albums as a teen sweetheart of Christian music on the Frontline label, Lewis and Ray started the record label Metro One Music and released her 1992 album Remember. As an independent artist, Lewis was free to blur the lines between CCM music and her unique style of blue-eyed soul. She showed off her vocal range on gospel-driven songs like “Never,” “I Now Live,” and “Lonely.” Lewis made her first recording of "Only Fools" on this album. She re-recorded the song for her 2000 album Fearless. While Remember was released, Lewis worked on the teen sketch comedy show Roundhouse, which aired on Nickelodeon and was produced and developed by Benny Hester. Her boost of exposure on Roundhouse got audiences noticing her singing talent.
Lewis also recorded Remember in Spanish as Recuerda. On the original release of Recuerda, they didn't use a proper translator and were criticized by the Spanish-speaking consumers. They re-recorded the album in its entirely. In 1996, Metro One reissued both releases with Word Records as their distributor, English and Spanish alternate CD covers and two remixes of "I Now Live" and "Lonely," both remixed by Scott Blackwell, as bonus tracks. Recuerda's reissue omitted "La Gracia Por La Cual Soy Salva."
Both digital releases contain the original ten songs and no bonus tracks.
