Signs of Life (1996)

Signs of Life is the eighth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman, released on August 22, 1996 by Sparrow Records. Chapman collaborates with producer Brown Bannister for the second time for production duties.
The radio singles from the album include the lead single and music video "Lord of the Dance," the title song and "Let Us Pray," all making the Christian radio charts. Signs of Life topped the Top Christian Albums and climbed to number 20 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums charts. The album was certified Gold in January 1997 for sales of 500,000 copies by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). "Let Us Pray" was used as the theme song for the 1997 National Day of Prayer campaign.
Chapman won Male Vocalist of the Year, Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year in 1997. "Let Us Pray" was named Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year, while also winning Male Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year in 1998 at the Dove Awards. The album was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album at the 39th Grammy Awards.
