The Fine Line is the sixth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Wayne Watson, released in the fall of 1988 on DaySpring/Word Records. The album was produced by Watson and Paul Mills.
Following up his success from his 1987 album Watercolour Ponies, The Fine Line continues that trajectory with more Christian radio hits like the lead single "That's Not Jesus," which is about the news of the time of the televangelists scandals of the late 1980s and that the song states the obvious fact that such
shenanigans do not reflect on the Lord but only expose the weakness of "some flesh and blood like you and me somehow gone astray." Musician Buddy Greene played the harmonica on the track.
Watson made his first music video for the track and further single "The Long Arm of the Lord" with its western theme. Other songs were also Christian radio hits like the title song, "Untouched by Human Hands" and the worship anthem "We Belong to Him." The Fine Line peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart in 1989. Watson wrote all the songs on the album, with the exception of the track "We Belong to Him," which was written by musician - songwriter Jeff Nelson.
