The Language of Jesus Is Love is the ninth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Scott Wesley Brown, released on April 9, 1987 by Sparrow Records. The album was produced by Greg Nelson.
The Language of Jesus Is Love serves as Brown's final album on Sparrow Records after being on the label for 10 years, seven albums and one compilation release.
The title song served as the album's lead single featuring a vocal duet with Gospel legend Shirley Caesar. The core theme of the song is true communication and faith that are expressed through acts of compassion rather than human intellect.
The album contains just nine songs focusing on themes of grace, missions, and global ministry. Its overall sound is adult contemporary with a mix a ballads, anthems and mid-tempo songs making it fit alongside worship and devotional formats rather than high-energy rock. Appearing on the front and back cover with Brown is his second daughter Jessica, who was 4 1/2 years old when The Language of Jesus Is Love was released.
The album was reissued on CD in 1988 as part of the Sparrow Double Play, putting this album and his 1984 compilation release All My Best in one CD.
