Wonder & Awe is the 14th studio album by the Christian rock band MercyMe, released on August 8, 2025 by Fair Trade Services. Recording took place in 2024 and 2025.

Lead vocalist Bart Millard talks to Music Row about the inspiration of Wonder & Awe:

"One of the struggles within today's church is the lack of awe. Having access to virtually everything within the palm of our hands, where’s the joy in being surprised? Those moments that take our breath away. This album reflects where I am right now…longing for wonder and awe—actively seeking the wonder of God and learning not to take it for granted. We’re so excited to finally share it, and we hope it brings even a fraction of the joy and excitement it’s brought us."

MercyMe wrote and produced a majority of the album with Tedd T. along with Bannister co-producing and bringing in three new co -producers: Carter Frodge, Josh Auer and Jared Atherton.

The album was preceded by the lead single "Oh Death." It was released in early 2025 and was co-written by Millard, Tedd T., Ethan Hulse and American country pop singer Walker Hayes, who's is best known for his 2021 TikTok viral hit "Fancy Like." "Oh Death" is a celebratory, faith-based anthem declaring that death has no power over believers, framing it as a defeated foe rather than a final end. Inspired by 1 Corinthians 15:55, the song portrays death as "nothing but a stone that my savior rolled away," emphasizing that Jesus’ resurrection provides victory and removes the fear of dying. There are two versions of "Oh Death" on Wonder & Awe: the album version featuring just MercyMe and the version featuring Hayes to close the album. The song topped at number 1 on Billboard magazine's Christian AC Airplay chart (their 21st number one song) while going Top 10 on the Hot Christian Songs and Christian Airplay charts. Other tracks like "Sing (Like You've Already Won)" and "Heartbroken Hallelujah" were released as promotional singles. The title song debuted and peaked at number 48 on the Hot Christian Songs chart upon the album's official release.

Wonder & Awe debuted and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums charts and at number 34 on the Top Album Sales. For the first time since they began charting 2001, Wonder & Awe is the first MercyMe album to not chart on the Billboard 200. "Oh Death" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2025 K-Love Fan Awards.
