Be One is the ninth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Natalie Grant, released on November 13, 2015 by Curb Records. The album was produced and arranged by Grant's husband Bernie Herms.
This was Grant's last album of the 2010s. Be One is a "shift in personal perspective" that tackles her every day life as a woman, as a mom, and as someone who strives to make a difference. This empowering perspective helped Grant overcome her battle with depression and lose 40 pounds over the course of the last 18 months, which was unveiled on the August 17, 2015 cover of First For Women magazine. The second single "King of the World" was the second song from her catalog of Christian hits to spend more than 30 weeks on the Billboard Christian charts with 33, behind her 2005 hit "Held" which spent a total of 36 weeks. It reached the Top 10 in its 17th week on the Hot Christian Songs chart and peaked at number 5 on December 17, 2016. Grant's brother and Christian music vocalist Steve Grant collaborates with her sister on the hymn cover "Nothing But the Blood." Grant's daughters, twins Grace and Bella (8) and Sadie (4) are featured vocalists on the worship track "Ever Be," which was originally recorded by Bethel Music and Kalley Heiligenthal.
Be One topped the Top Christian Albums giving Grant her second number one album. It debuted and peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart where it spent one week before falling off the chart entirely. In October 2016, Grant was nominated for a Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year and a year later, "King of the World" was nominated for Song of the Year.
In 2017, Grant was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/
Song for "King of the World." A year later, Grant was nominated for Best
Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for "Clean."
After the release of Be One, Grant was on sabbatical leave when she was later diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2017. During her recovery, Grant has released a series of singles and collaborations including "Speak the Name" with Gospel singer Koryn Hawthorn and the track was nominated for a Grammy for Best Gospel Performance/Song. It would be five years before Grant releases her next album No Stranger.
A digital deluxe edition of Be One was also released with four bonus tracks: acoustic recordings of the title song and "King of the World," a remix version of "Clean" and a live recording of the classic hymn "How Great Thou Art."
