Hurricane (2013)

Hurricane is the eighth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Natalie Grant, released on October 15, 2013 by Curb Records. The album was produced by Grant's husband Bernie Herms.

Grant returns with her first new album in three years, following up her 2010 release Love Revolution. The album's sound has some Christian EDM, pop, country and acoustic folk. Hurricane was preceded by its title track as the lead single, released four months earlier in June 2013. The second single "Closer to Your Heart" was released in late December 2013. The track "Born to Be" features a duet with Rascal Flatt's lead singer Gary LeVox. The album gave Grant her first number one on the Billboard Top Christian Albums and debuted and peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200 Albums charts. Apple Music and iTunes store has an exclusive deluxe edition of Hurricane with four bonus tracks including the Gospel cover of Richard Smallwood's "I Love the Lord."

In 2014, Grant was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song and Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance and was nominated for four Dove Awards for Contemporary Christian Performance, Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year and Song of the Year, all for "Hurricane," and for Best Gospel Performance for "I Love the Lord." In 2015, Grant was nominated for a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Hurricane.
