Called is the 11th studio album by the Christian vocal group Avalon. It was released by Red Street Records/The Fuel Music on February 14, 2020. This album is their first release of new music in over a decade and also saw the return of original Avalon member Jody McBrayer and the addition of new member Dani Rocca.
After the release of their 2009 album Reborn, Avalon, at the time, consisted of two couples: Greg and Janna Long and Jeremi and Amy Richardson. Without a label, Avalon was touring and was spending time with their respected families throughout the 2010s. The Longs served as music worship leaders at their church during their downtime. Nearly a decade after joining the group, the Richardsons decide to leave and stopped touring on August 7, 2018. A couple of months later, Avalon announced on their Facebook page the return of McBrayer and the addition of Rocca. Later on October 24, 2018, Avalon signed with Red Street Records, a new label launched by Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus. DeMarcus was the one half of the 1990s Christian music duo East to West.
Before the album was released, Avalon released their first Christian radio single in over a decade, "Keeper of My Heart," in July 2019 and then went on a 10-date tour a couple of months later featuring the new line-up. Called features the group's signature vocal harmonies across 10 tracks, blending adult contemporary sounds with modern flourishes. The album was produced by DeMarcus and Don Koch.
