Dominion (2022)
Dominion is the 11th studio album by the Christian rock band Skillet. It was released on January 14, 2022 by Atlantic/Warner Records and Hear It Loud Music. The album was produced by the father-son team of Kane and Kevin Churko with
Seth Mosley and Mike "X" O'Conner producing the track "Refuge." It is Skillet's final studio album to be released through Atlantic Records.
Dominion was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 and was created 100% remotely between the band's touring schedules and their home studio in Wisconsin and Kevin Churko's studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. Frontman John Cooper described the album's core theme as a celebration of freedom and a liberation from fear - to be who we want to be, say what we want to say, believe what we want to believe, Cooper says. "In some ways it's a reminder of the God-given rights that we were born with. It's time to regain some sort of control over our lives and not be a slave to fear. I hope this record is going to make people feel empowered, inspired, uplifted and want to rock their faces off!" Cooper and his wife and fellow Skillet musician Korey wrote songs with Kane and Kevin Churko on the majority of the album's tracks.
To get the singles rolling, Skillet released their first single "Surviving the Game" accompanied by a music video on September 15, 2021. At the same time, they announced the album itself, the album cover, the track list, and release date. On November 12, 2021, the band unveiled the second single "Standing in the Storm."
On December 10, 2021 the third single "Refuge" was released. On January 7, 2022, one week before the album release, the band released the fourth and final single "Dominion." Dominion charted and peaked on the following Billboard album charts:

A deluxe edition was released one year later on February 17, 2023 titled Dominion: Day of Destiny featuring four new tracks and a new recording of "Finish Line" featuring Three Days Grace lead singer and rhythm guitarist Adam Gontier. "Finish Line" originally appeared on their previous album Victorious. The new version with Gontier was Gold certified by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in September 2026. In October 2023, Skillet won a Dove Award for the Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year for the deluxe edition at the 54th GMA Dove Awards.
