i 2 (EYE) is the fourth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Michael W. Smith, released on August 15, 1988 by Reunion Records.
i 2 (EYE) gave Smith his first number one album on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and was Gold certified in 1991. Smith once again collaborated with studio musician Wayne Kirkpatrick for songwriting and, for the first time, producing. The album was nominated for a Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year at the 20th GMA Dove Awards and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance, Male at the 31st Grammy Awards.
Music videos were made for "Secret Ambition" and "I Miss the Way," with the latter winning a Dove Award for Short Form Music Video of the Year at the 21st GMA Dove Awards.
Stryper's Michael Sweet and Oz Fox provide backing vocals on the track "All You're Missin' is a Heartache."
