On the Fly is the 18th solo and 6th instrumental album by Christian singer/

songwriter/guitarist Phil Keaggy. It was originally released independently in the spring of 1997 on Canis Major Records. Keaggy produced the album with John August Schroeter. On the Fly is a return to Keaggy playing both electric and acoustic guitars, as well as bass and classical guitars. It features the original recording of the Spanish-flavored track "Praise Dance." The track also appears on his 2000 instrumental release Lights of Madrid. There are two extended tracks: the six-part near 15 minute "Way of the Pilgrim" and the 24 minute "The Sojourner." In early 1999, Word Entertainment reissued and repackaged On the Fly as Sojourner with the same track listing and a different CD front cover on their Black Dot label. The album is currently out of print.
