Sleep Sound in Jesus: Gentle Lullabies for Baby is the seventh studio and first Children's music album by Christian singer/songwriter/author Michael Card, released around July 1989 by Sparrow Records. Card produced the album with Phil Naish.
The original 1989 release contained 15 songs of lullabies for infants and toddlers including the title song, plus a new recording of Card's track "Jesus Let Us Come to Know You." A companion book titled Sleep Sound in Jesus: Gentle Lullabies for Little Ones and Inspirational Devotions for Parents is for first-time parents and for babies with full-color illustrations by Catherine McLaughlin alongside encouraging meditations for parents and the lullaby lyrics from the CD. Sleep Sound in Jesus was Card's best-selling Children's album. The album peaked at number 9 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart in 1990 and stayed on the chart for the next three years. It was enough to give Card his first (and only) Gold certified record, selling half a million copies by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1994.
In 2002, Sleep Sound in Jesus was reissued as a 2-CD Platinum Edition containing this album and his 1993 release Come to the Cradle on the second disc. Then in 2013, Sleep Sound in Jesus was reissued as a single-disc deluxe edition containing two additional tracks that Card recorded for this collection: "Shut Your Lamps" and "What Is a Tear?"
