The First Decade (1983-1993) is a compilation album by Christian singer -songwriter Michael W. Smith, released on October 12, 1993 by Reunion Records.
This collection features songs from his first ten years of recording, from his six studio albums, not counting his Christmas or live albums. It also contains two brand new songs: the lead single "Kentucky Rose" and "Do You Dream of Me?"
The latter song is co-written with Amy Grant, who also provides backing vocals.
A more extensive 2-CD collection called The Wonder Years would be released the same year as The First Decade. The album topped the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and was Gold certified in 1995.
