Updated: Mar 31

Tribute – The Songs of Andraé Crouch is a compilation project album that was released on September 24, 1996 by Warner Alliance/Warner Bros. Records. Norman Miller and Neal Joseph were the executive producers of this project with each song produced by various producers.

Tribute features the top CCM and gospel artists singing their interpretation of gospel legend Andraé Crouch's songs including CeCe Winans, Michael W. Smith, First Call, Twila Paris, Bryan Duncan and many others. A music video was made for "My Tribute (To God Be the Glory)" featuring Crouch and an All-Star Choir featuring some of the participating artists plus additional lead vocals by BeBe Winans, Susan Ashton and others in the Christian music industry.

Tribute peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. In 1997, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album at the 39th Grammy Awards, given to the participating artists and executive producers Miller and Joseph and won the Dove Award for Special Event Album of the Year with CeCe Winans winning Contemporary Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for her rendition of "Take Me Back" at the 28th GMA Dove Awards. "Take Me Back" gave CeCe her first and only number song on the Christian AC chart.
