Where Mercy Begins is the ninth studio album by Christian singer Steve Green, released in 1994 by Sparrow Records. In addition to long-time producer Greg Nelson, Green worked with two other producers, Brown Bannister and Phil Naish.
Where Mercy Begins has an adult contemporary pop sound while still incorporating Green's inspirational praise and worship anthems. The album's first two singles, "Glory to You" and "We Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God,"
were both Top 10 hits on the Christian AC chart with the former song topping the chart (Green's only Christian AC number one) and the latter written by Steven Curtis Chapman. Bannister worked with Green on the 1992 Keith Green tribute album No Compromise: Remembering the Music of Keith Green with Green recording "Grace By Which I Stand." It is the first time Green has worked with other producers other than Nelson. Green's songs are primarily made for Christian Inspirational radio but with this release, Green was expanding and updating his sound with Bannister and Naish each producing three songs.
Where Mercy Begins peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. In 1995, the album was nominated for a Dove Award for Inspirational Album of the Year.
