Written On the Wind is the third solo album by Christian singer - songwriter Chuck Girard. It was originally released on November 1977 by Good News/Word Records. Girard wrote and produced the album himself.
Girard was planning this album as a departure from his two previous solo albums and even his albums with Love Song, with the emphasis of a singer, songwriter and storyteller. With only nine tracks on Written On the Wind, Girard wanted to create an album which reflected his message in a more artistic way.
Girard had been writing some songs which had taken a look at some important events in the Bible, and reflected on them from an outside perspective: the agony and ecstasy it must have been to be the mother of Jesus, the Crucifixion and Resurrection of the Lord, and the future as reported in the book of Revelation.
Highlights of songs from the album include "Spirit Wind," "Mary's Song," Thank You Lord" and "Peace in the Valley." Girard wrote all nine songs on Written On the Wind, with the final track,"The Warrior," was composed with fellow singer and songwriter Terry Clark. In 2010, Written On the Wind was reissued digitally on Girard's own label Seven Thunders Records.
