Another Time, Another Place: Timeless Christian Classics (2008)

Another Time, Another Place: Timeless Christian Classics is the ninth studio album by the Christian vocal group Avalon, released on February 26, 2008 by Sparrow Records. This is an album of covers containing remakes of timeless contemporary Christian music classics. Avalon also records a new arrangement of their 1998 Dove Award winning hit "Testify to Love." "We Will Stand" featuring Russ Taff previously appeared on their 2006 release Stand. The album was preceded by a digital EP that was released in the fall of 2007 containing three tracks: the title song, "God Is In Control" and "Thy Word." Another Time, Another Place debuted and peaked at number 21 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. Group member Jody McBrayer left Avalon in 2007 after being diagnosed with a heart condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyoparthy. McBrayer recorded his vocals before he left. McBrayer returned to Avalon a decade later for their 2020 release Called. For a time, McBrayer was replace by vocalist Jeremi Richardson on tour and appearing on their next album Reborn in 2009. This is Avalon's final release on Sparrow Records after more than a decade on the label.

Avalon also released their second live DVD on the same day as this album, entitled Avalon Live: A Hits Collection, containing 15 tracks spanning the group's highly successful career. It was filmed in 2007 in front of an audience of 3,000 at Rocketown in Nashville, Tennesee.
