Born Again (2010)

Updated: Apr 14

Born Again is the 14th studio album by the Australian - American Christian rock band Newsboys, released on July 13, 2010 by Inpop Records.

It is the first full-length Newsboys album to feature Michael Tait of DC Talk as the new lead singer, replacing founding member and lead singer - musician Peter Furler. It is also the first album to not feature any of the original members in the line-up. Duncan Phillips and Jeff Frankenstein have been with the band since their debut on the 1994 release, Going Public. Jody Davis has also been with the band from 1994 to 2003 and then returned since 2009's In the Hands of God.

The group released a special five-track preview EP, also titled Born Again, in early January 2010. Four tracks from the EP appeared on the album. The exception, and first single released, was "I'll Be," which was made available on deluxe versions of the album. The album was later reissued as Born Again: Miracles Edition in April 2011, that included five new songs, four remixes and replaced "Impossible" with the new song, "Save Your Life." Music videos were made for the title song and "Miracles." Born Again topped the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart for three weeks and over at the Top 200 Albums chart, it debuted and peaked at number 4,

shattering their previous peak position of number 28 with 2009's In the Hands of God. In 2012, Newsboys were nominated for Rock Recorded Song of the Year for "Born Again" and Short Form Music Video of the Year for "Miracles" at the 2012 GMA Dove Awards.
