Fearless (2000) (Crystal Lewis album)
Fearless is the ninth studio album by American singer - songwriter Crystal Lewis. It was released on May 16, 2000 on Metro One, distributed by Word Distribution and Universal Music.
Pairing her trademark powerful vocals with a blend of CCM, adult contemporary, pop, and R&B elements, the album marked a stylistic exploration following her highly acclaimed late-1990s projects Beauty for Ashes and Gold. The project stands out for its high-profile production team—featuring Brian Ray, Rhett Lawrence, and gospel icon Kirk Franklin—as well as its diverse guest lineup. Notably, the track "I Still Believe" was penned by Franklin. The song originally appearing on the Touched By An Angel: The Christmas Album television soundtrack. "Trust Me" features backing vocals from American R&B/Soul singer Rahsaan Patterson. The track "What a Fool I've Been" introduces hip-hop flavors with guest verses from Christian rappers T-Bone and J-Raw of Priesthood. Lewis recorded a new version of the Remember track "Only Fools," which was released as the lead single.
Fearless peaked at No. 17 on the Top Christian Albums and at No. 28 on the Heatseekers Albums charts in Billboard magazine. In 2001, Lewis garnered her first, and only, solo Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album (she was previously nominated for Best R&R Performance by a Duo or Group for her participation in Kirk Franklin's "Lean On Me").
