Joy (1989)

Joy is the second studio album by American singer - songwriter Crystal Lewis, released in January 1989 by Frontline Records. Marking a distinct transition toward a more worship-oriented and soul-infused musical style, Joy solidified her status as one of the most powerful vocalists in Christian music.

Her Christian radio hits included "God is Somebody" and the Easter-themed "You Didn't Have to Do It." The song "Bloodstained Pages" was a hit song and concert favorite for Lewis, written by Hal Spencer and Lauren Stalnecker, and was inspired by Revelation 20 which Spencer shared with Stalnecker.

Scott V. Smith produced the majority of the album while Gene Eugene produced three tracks: "Monday Comes" (both regular and alternate mix) and "Come Together." Joy was reissued on CD in 1997 by Metro One with an alternate album cover.
