Love Over Gold (1995)

Updated: Mar 8

Love Over Gold is the sixth release and fifth and final studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Morgan Cryar. It was released in 1995 on the independent label United Christian Alliance (UCA), a label started by Christian rock singer -songwriter Rick Cua.

It is Cryar's first new album in five years since his 1990 album Kingdom Upside Down and Cryar produced and co-engineered the album himself. The first single "If I Never See A Miracle" went to number one on The CCM Update Christian AC chart, giving him his final number one and his follow up song "What Sin?" even though it was a Top 30 Christian AC hit, it was a moderate success. Cryar also covers Tom Petty's 1989 hit "I Won't Back Down" (#1 Billboard Mainstream Rock, #12 Hot 100) as "Won't Back Down."

Love Over Gold is out of print and is not available digitally. The tracks "If I Never See A Miracle," "What Sin? and "Koombayah" are the only tracks to appear on CD and digitally on his 1998 compilation album What Sin? A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article.
