No Greater Sacrifice (1996)

No Greater Sacrifice is the seventh studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Ray Boltz, released in October 1996 by Ray Boltz Music/Word Records. The album was produced by Boltz and Steve Millikan.

No Greater Sacrifice was inspired by the numerous missions trips that Boltz made during the 1990s.  He performed in Vietnam, Cambodia, Romania, Thailand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India.  He was also blessed to help build orphanages and make a difference in the lives of children around the world. Notable tracks include "One Drop of Blood," a narrative song that explores the themes of sin, judgment, and redemption through the imagery of a courtroom and "At the Foot of the Cross" (co-written with Lawrence Chewning) about the cross as a place of safety, transformation, and eternal forgiveness. Also included is a vocal duet with Christian singer and songwriter Cindy Morgan on the track "God Gave Me Back Tomorrow."

Boltz also released a companion video EP on VHS also entitled No Greater Sacrifice containing five music videos with four from this release and, for the first time, a conceptual video of his signature Easter classic "Watch the Lamb." Ironically, Boltz was entering into his 10th year of music and ministry at the time of this album's release. No Greater Sacrifice debuted and peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums and at number 173 on the Billboard 200 Albums charts. In 1997, Boltz was nominated for two Dove Awards for Inspirational Album of the Year and Long Form Music Video of the Year.

No Greater Sacrifice was issued on cassette tape and CD when it was first issued. It is not available on digital platforms, but it is sold at Boltz's website at www.rayboltz.com. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article.
