Restoration: A Prayer in Music for the Church (1983)
Updated: 28 minutes ago
Restoration: A Prayer in Music for the Church is a collaboration worship album by Christian singer Evie and her husband Pelle Karlsson. It was released in July 1983 on Word Records. Karlsson wrote and produced the project himself, plus he played synthesizer, keyboards and guitar.
Restoration is the second collaborative project after their first release Teach Us Your Way between Evie and Pelle. The album serves a thematic, conceptual purpose: to inspire spiritual revival within the Christian church. Restoration combines musical arrangements, primarily driven by keyboards and piano, with spoken scripture readings woven fluidly between the songs to create a cohesive worship experience. One notable track from this record, "Touch Your People Once Again," later became a widely recognized worship hit when recorded by Christian artist Steve Green on his 1985 album He Holds the Keys.
Restoration was only issued on LP and cassette tape when it was first released. It is not available on CD nor on streaming platforms. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article.
