Roaring Lambs is a collaborative various artists project that was released on May 30, 2000 by Squint Entertainment/Word Records. It is based on the book of the same name Roaring Lambs: A Gentle Plan to Radically Change Your World by Bob Briner, original published in 1993. Conceived and directed by art director Dave Palmer, and produced by Steve Taylor and various producers, the recording includes a number of CCM artists' musical interpretations of Briner's message about the need to have a positive impact on their culture. Its core purpose was to mirror Briner's message: challenging Christians to leave the safety of religious subcultures, excel in their respective crafts, and actively shape mainstream culture.

Roaring Lamb's highlights include the track "Kingdom Come" by PFR. At the time, PFR, which consisted of Joel Hanson, Patrick Andrew and Mark Nash, reunited for this recording, after taking a hiatus from their 1996 release Them. The song was a big hit for the trio and it warranted them a follow-up album Disappear releasing the following year. "Out There" is a vocal duet with Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith, "'Akehlulek' Ubaba (With God Everything is Possible)" is performed by the Grammy-winning African men's vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo with producer Charlie Peacock on the piano, giving the song a world beat sound reminiscent of Paul Simon's Graceland album, for which Ladysmith Black Mambazo participated in. Also included is a cover of Canadian singer -

songwriter Bruce Cockburn's "Wondering Where the Lions Are" recorded by Bill Mallonee and Vigilantes of Love.

Roaring Lambs debuted and peaked at number 15 on the Top Christian Albums and at number 19 on the Top Independent Albums charts in Billboard magazine. In 2001, the project was nominated in two Dove Award categories: Special Event Album of the Year and for the track "Shortstop" by Taylor for Modern Rock/

Alternative Recorded Song of the Year. The album cover won a technical Dove Award for Recorded Music Packaging of the Year given to Palmer, Buddy Jackson, Karinne Caulkins-Jackson and Ben Pearson. An updated companion book of Roaring Lambs was also released to accompany the CD.

Roaring Lambs is not available on digital platforms. A YouTube playlist to listen to the album is posted below this article.
