Target and the Arrow (2026)
Target and the Arrow is the upcoming seventh studio album by the Christian rock band PFR. It will be released independently and digitally on September 22, 2026. A later date for CD and vinyl will be announced later for its physical release. The trio reunited with long-time producer Jimmie Lee Sloas to recreate the classic, melodic alternative-rock sound they were known for in the 1990s.
Target and the Arrow marks a comeback for PFR, as it is their first studio album of new material in 25 years since their last release Disappear, but not counting their 2004 album The Bookhouse Recordings which consisted of rerecordings of their older songs, plus three new tracks and done in a stripped-down, three-
person band approach. Their latest release was started around 2022 when PFR was doing a couple of shows in their hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota and spent three years writing and recording this record. In 2024, PFR had announced they were making and releasing Target and the Arrow as a GoFundMe campaign project to cover the cost for studio time. While tracking began in 2024, the album's release timeline shifted because the band pivoted in 2025 to launch a concurrent Kickstarter campaign to remaster and legally rescue their "lost" album, Disappear, from streaming obscurity. As of June 2026, Disappear was made available on all streaming platforms.
On July 29, 2026, PRF unveiled the track listing of Target and the Arrow on their social media platforms as a countdown, starting with their 11th track "We Were Wrong," and heard in 30 second snippets and continued everyday until the first track, "Find Our Way," was revealed on August 11, 2026. The next day the full track listing was posted. Mark Nash's ex-wife Leigh Nash (lead singer of Sixpence None the Richer) is a featured vocalist on the track "I Won't Ask."
