Sacred Journey is the seventh studio album by the Christian music group First Call , released in 1993 on Myrrh/Word Records. It would be their final album on Word Records in general since being on the label in 1985 on two different subsidiary labels: DaySpring and Myrrh. Sacred Journey continues the themes explored on their previous album Human Song but with more of an unplugged and live-in studio sound. The group got involved not just in songwriting but in production as they produced the album themselves along with producers Darrell Brown and David Battheu. The title of the album is taken from a book by Presbyterian minister Fredrick Buechner that stresses the sanctity of all of life. Freedom in Christ is the central theme and is reflected in some of the songs. Music videos were made for the singles "Freedom" and "Evidence of Love." Sacred Journey peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. On a side note, this is the final album to feature vocalist Marabeth Jordan. In 1994, Jordan was involved in an extra-martial affair with Christian singer Michael English, with whom the group had recently toured. The ensuing publicity had a devastating personal and professional effect on the group and the individuals involved. Human Song is the sixth studio album by the Christian music group First Call , released in 1992 on Myrrh Records. It is the fourth non-holiday album with production by Michael Omartian with U.K. Christian musician and vocalist Chris Eaton co-produced and co-wrote the track "Land of Many Tears." It is the first album to feature vocalist and session singer Marabeth Jordan, who replaced Melodie Tunney to continue on as a trio. Human Song continues their pop sound heard from their previous album God is Good , but with more of an emphasis on dealing with trials endemic to the human condition such as divorce, abuse and real-life problems. First Call covers two songs: "Ring Them Bells" by Bob Dylan and "Don't You Worry 'bout a Thing" by Stevie Wonder. The songs "Broken Places" and "I Will Always Come Back to You" were hits on the Christian radio charts. All three members were involved with songwriting input. God is Good is the fifth studio album by the Christian music group First Call . Released in the fall of 1989, the trio switched to Word Records' Myrrh label for this album. The album is produced by Keith Thomas. A departure from their Manhatten Transfer-type sound of vocal jazz, God is Good is a straight-ahead pop album with Thomas handling the arrangements and the trio getting more involved in songwriting input. Most critics have said this is one of their best albums. With only nine songs on God is Good , five songs were released as Christian radio singles from the fall of 1989 to the spring of 1991, including a pop jazz cover of "Forgiven," originally recorded by The Imperials . After being one of the founding members since 1984, Melodie Tunney left the group amicably in 1990 to join her husband, Dick Tunney, in their own concert and songwriting ministry, while maintaining her friendship with Marty McCall and Bonnie Keen and the song "Legacy" reflects that. Vocalist and session singer Marabeth Jordan joined McCall and Keen and replaced Tunney to continue on as a trio in the 1990s. Undivided is the second studio album by the Christian music group First Call , released in 1986 on DaySpring Records. Released as a non-holiday album, Undivided is the first proper album by the trio produced by Greg Nelson, Keith Thomas, Dan Keen and Dick Tunney. It features a mix of contemporary pop, vocal jazz and big band. The album's debut single, the title song written by group member Melodie Tunney, became a hit on both the Christian AC and Christian Inspo charts and would become their signature song. "Undivided" was ranked at number 93 by CCM Magazine 's 100 Greatest Songs in Christian Music and was nominated for a Dove Award for Song of the Year. The album climbed to number 16 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. First Call would go on to win the Group of the Year title for the next two years and also win New Artist of the Year (originally titled the Horizon Award) at the Dove Awards and earned their first of four Grammy nominations for Best Gospel Performance by a Duo or Group. This is their first and only album released on Word Records' DaySpring label in 1989. Superpower is produced by Mike Demus and Tom Hemby with Bob Farrell serving as executive producer. Both Demus and Hemby are studio musicians and songwriters. The album is a departure from their new wave/techno pop of their previous albums, especially from the Star Song Records period from 1984 to 1987. It is a straight-ahead pop album with some of the techno/pop sound scaled back, going back to their contemporary pop when they were on the NewPax label of the late 1970s and early 1980s. A music video was made for the track "Heart of the Homeless." In 1991 after the release of Superpower , the duo decided to retire from touring and recording, although wife Jayne does some occasional solo touring, husband Bob wanted to focus more on songwriting and producing. Choices is the fourth studio album by the Christian music husband and wife duo Farrell and Farrell . Released in 1984, this is the first of three albums they would release on the Star Song Records label. The Farrells were on Benson's NewPax label since 1978 and left that label for Star Song. Their sound is more new wave/techno pop this time around as evidenced by their singles "Hosanna Gloria" and "Get Right or Get Left." Their ballad "Give Me the Words" was one of their signature songs and a hit on Christian AC radio stations. The album is produced by Bob Farrell and Eddie DeGarmo. Christian Rock duo DeGarmo & Key were involved in the album as musicians with DeGarmo as one of keyboard and synthesizer players and Key on lead electric guitar. They co-wrote "Get Right or Get Left" with Bob Farrell. Billy Smiley and Mark Gersmehl of White Heart were also involved with co-writing songs with Farrell.
