Another Child to Hold is the fourth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Ray Boltz, released in March 1991 by Diadem Music Group with distribution by Word Incorporated in association with Ray Boltz Music. The album was produced by Boltz and Steve Millikan.

Another Child to Hold was Boltz's third Top 10 album, but this time peaking into the Top 5, at number 5 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and was another best seller. The album focuses heavily on family, parenting, and personal spiritual growth. The title song is a poignant ballad telling the story of a father bringing his teenage daughter to God in prayer. It resonated deeply with listeners for its relatable portrayal of the anxieties parents feel as their children grow up and face the world.

The lead single "The Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me" is Boltz's version of a song written by singer - songwriter Jim Weatherly that was first recorded by Ray Price and was a number one hit on the Billboard Country Songs chart in 1971 and later recorded by Gladys Knight & the Pips in 1974 where it topped the Billboard R&B chart and peaked at number 3 on the Hot 100. It's the first time Boltz covered a song that's not written by him and sung it as a tribute to God. Boltz had some help from the Christian music industry on this release with backing vocals by Bruce Carroll, Ashley Cleveland, Phil Maxwell, Mike Eldred, Kim Fleming and Christopher Harris among others.

Another Child to Hold was originally issued on cassette tape and CD when it was first issued. It is not available on digital platforms, but it is sold at Boltz's website at www.rayboltz.com. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article.
