Arise My Love: The Very Best of NewSong (1999)

Arise My Love: The Very Best of NewSong is an official compilation album by the Christian music group NewSong, released on August 10, 1999 by Benson Records.

This collection contains 13 of the group's best known Christian radio hits and album favorites from their Benson releases including their number one songs "Miracles," "Got Me Going," "My Heart's Already There" and "Rhythm of the World." It also contains three brand new tracks: the lead single "Can't Keep a Good Man Down" featuring guest vocals by Christine Denté of Out of the Grey, "Like Minded, Like Hearted," a song about racial unity sung as a duet with the Christian R&B trio Out of Eden and "Jesus to the World (Roaring Lambs)," which was inspired by Christian author and speaker Bob Briner who died later that year.

Both "Can't Keep a Good Man Down" and "Jesus to the World" were Christian radio hits on the Christian AC chart with the former track going to number one. "Like Minded, Like Hearted" also appears in the various artists compilation album Bridges: Songs of Unity and Purpose featuring Christian and Soul Gospel artists performing together. Billboard magazine's Christian music editor Deborah Evans Price wrote the CD liner notes about NewSong's history from their beginnings as a quartet to where they are now as a group. The title song, "Arise My Love," (from People Get Ready) is the final track on this collection and is dedicated to former NewSong member Bobby Apon, who had died on May 17, 1999. Arise My Love peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.

After the release of Arise My Love, NewSong would once again experience more personnel changes as lead vocalist Russ Lee and musician Scotty Wilbanks left the group in 2000. Lee left to temporarily pursue a solo career in Christian music (Lee returned to NewSong in 2008). Wilbanks went on to tour with the Christian rock band Third Day and he has performed with various artists and bands.
