Favorites (1980)
Favorites is an official English language compilation album by Christian singer Evie, released in September 1980 on Word Records. Originally titled Favorites Volume 1, this collection contains 10 of Evie's best recorded songs covering her early Word releases Evie, Evie Again, Gentle Moments and Mirror, but no songs from Never the Same, which was released the year before. It also contains one brand new track titled "The Name of Jesus" which was written and produced by Evie's husband Pelle Karlsson. Favorites charted and climbed to No. 2 in March 1981 on the Billboard Top Inspirational Albums chart and remained a best selling compilation release throughout 1981.
Also in 1981, Evie and her husband Karlsson decided to step back from touring and performing so they can focus on shared ministry work. Evie continued to release albums throughout the 1980s.
