Images (1986)

Updated: Nov 11, 2023

Images is the third studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Kathy Troccoli, released in the fall of 1986 on Reunion Records. The album was produced by Dann Huff and Phil Naish.

Images marked the first time Troccoli has co-written songs along with musician/songwriter Wayne Kirkpatrick and producers Huff and Naish. The ballad "If Only" recalls Troccoli's grief with the loss of her father when she was 15 years old. The rest of the album was more of a dance pop sound and was not as big a seller as her previous two albums were. Despite that, Images still earned Troccoli a second Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance, Female at the 30th Grammy Awards in 1988.

The album peaked at number 25 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.

After the release of Images, Troccoli embarked on a five-year sabbatical from her recording career and would not release another album until 1991's Pure Attraction. The album has since been out-of-print and is not available digitally to stream or purchase. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article.
