So Far...The Best of Susan Ashton (1995)

So Far...The Best of Susan Ashton is an official compilation album by Christian singer Susan Ashton, released on August 29, 1995 by Sparrow Records. The collection was originally titled So Far...The Best of Susan Ashton, Volume 1 when it was first released, but there was no Volume 2.

It contains ten songs of her No. 1 Christian AC hits and Top 10 favorites across from her three Sparrow releases, Wakened By the Wind, Angels of Mercy and Susan Ashton, and it also features two new recording: "Stand" and "Hide Or Seek."

"Stand" was released as the lead single. The song is a deeply emotional anthem about faith, perseverance, and spiritual resilience. Its lyrics utilize vivid imagery of weathering a storm ("stand with my face to the wind / with the storm beating down on this sacred ground") to represent standing firm in one's beliefs during difficult times. The core message of the chorus is reassurance that standing up for your faith and grace means you will never truly be alone. "Stand" was listed at No. 84 from CCM Magazine in 2006 in their book The 100 Greatest Songs in Christian Music.

The other new track, "Hide Or Seek," was written by Canadian Christian singer and songwriter Carolyn Arends. So Far...The Best of Susan Ashton peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.
