  • A Room Full of Stories (1997)

A Room Full of Stories is the fifth studio album by Christian singer/songwriter/ guitarist Wes King . It was released on March 14, 1997 and is his only album on Sparrow Records. Wayne Kirkpatrick and Ben Wisch produced five tracks each. After five years on Reunion Records, King made his fifth album on the Sparrow label for this release. A Room Full of Stories returns to the autobiographical, experimental tone of his early material. The opening track, "Simplify," deals with the common habit of living a life filled with too many commitments. "Remember" recalls the day when King answered an alter call. The poignant ballad "Thought You'd Be Here" is about a couple who are unable to produce a child and King sings a simple lullaby to the child that the husband and wife have long to have. Those above mentioned songs were King's final Christian radio hits. A Room Full of Stories peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. • The Robe (1993)

The Robe is the third studio album by Christian singer/songwriter/guitarist Wes King , released on March 23, 1993 by Reunion Records. The album was produced by Phil Naish. The Robe is a departure from King's "acoustic groove" of his first two albums and bringing in a more modern commercial sound, courtesy of producer Phil Naish, who is best known for producing albums for Steven Curtis Chapman . Considered a breakthrough album, The Robe produced hits like the title track and "I Believe." The track "Martin Luther" is a tribute to the theologian and father of the Reformation. On the title song, Christian vocalist Susan Ashton provides harmony vocals and King filmed his first music video. "The Robe" is derived from a sermon by King's mentor and speaker Charles Spurgeon. The Robe charted on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and peaked at number 18. • Petra

Petra is an American music group regarded as a pioneer of the Christian rock and contemporary Christian music genres and was, for many years, regarded as the "world's most popular Christian rock band." Formed in 1972 and founded by the band's guitarist and principal songwriter Bob Hartman, the band took its name from the Greek word for "rock." Though it disbanded formally in 2006, incarnations have played reunion shows in the years since and released an album called Back to the Rock in 2010 under the name Classic Petra featuring the 1980s line-up of former lead singer Greg X. Volz, along with Hartman, former bass player Mark Kelly, keyboardist John Lawry and former drummer Louie Weaver. In 2013, it reformed with a new drummer, Cristian Borneo, and recorded a new song titled "Holy is Your Name," before going back on tour. With a style initially similar to The Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Petra's sound evolved into a more energetic, driving rock sound in the early 1980s akin to Foreigner, Styx and Journey. Throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s, Petra was one of the world's most popular Christian rock bands, with each of its albums during that period selling hundreds of thousands of copies while the band sold-out arenas and regularly placed songs at the top of Christian radio charts. With its lyrics, music and style, Petra influenced numerous other artists at a time when Christian rock experienced strong opposition from many conservative pastors and churches. In more than three decades, the band experienced numerous lineup changes yet released more than 20 albums, two Spanish-language albums and three live albums, selling nearly 10 million records, winning four Grammy Awards and ten Dove Awards. Their concerts rivaled that of Amy Grant 's in popularity among Christian audiences. Petra was the first rock band inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame and the first Christian band whose memorabilia was included in the Hard Rock Cafe restaurant chain. As of 2025, Petra's current line-up consists of Hartman, Borneo, lead singer John Schlitt (since 1986), Lawry on keyboards (1984 - 1994, 2014 - present) and Greg Bailey on bass guitar (2001 -2010, 2014 - present). In September 26, 2025, Petra released a new single and lyric video "Deliver Us," which led to the release of a new full-length album entitled Hope , their first new release in over two decades. It was released in early January 2026. • Unleashed (2016)

Unleashed is the ninth studio album by the Christian rock band Skillet , released on August 5, 2016 by Atlantic/Warner Records, Word/Curb Records and the band's own Hear It Loud label. The album was produced by Brian Howes, Seth Mosley, Kevin Churko and Mike "X" O'Conner. On February 16, 2015, Skillet announced they were writing material for a new album with recording to begin in June with a potential release in the late half of 2015 or early 2016, however it got pushed back to a later-2016 release date on August 5, 2016. The band worked with Brian Howes, who previously produced their 2006 album Comatose and the majority of the album was made and recorded at Howes' studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Skillet also worked with Seth Mosley, Kevin Churko and Mike "X" O'Conner. Lead singer and musician John Cooper stated he felt "really inspired" before going into the studio to record the music. Even though he said "the songs are very aggressive, very in-your-face," he said the new material is genuine to the Skillet sound they have crafted. The album's highlight and lead single is the opening track "Feel Invincible." A crowd-chanting anthem, the song is about feeling untouchable with the power of God and about finding something that gets you through another day. It has been used in a couple of media appearances including as being the official theme for the WWE pay-per-view event 2016 Battleground and as a theme to the eight week live video gaming competition event ELeague that aired on the cable channel TBS (Turner Broadcasting System) and was broadcast in more than 80 countries. "Feel Invincible" is the most successful track on Unleashed , giving the band their first number one song on both Bilboard 's Hot Christian Songs and Mainstream Rock Airplay as well as topping the Christian Rock charts. "Feel Invincible" is the band's fourth multi-platinum single overall going Double Platinum, selling over two million downloads by 2022 and is their most streamed song on the album with more than 826 million streams. Other tracks have also been certified: the second single "Stars" was Gold certified in 2020 and "The Resistance" was Platinum certified in 2024. • Rise (2013)

Rise is the eighth studio album by the Christian rock band Skillet , released on June 25, 2013 by Atlantic/Warner Records, Word/Curb Records and the band's own Hear It Loud label. The album is produced by Howard Benson. Skillet returns with their first new album in nearly four years and their first new album of the 2010s. After the success of Awake and touring to promote the album, Skillet took time off and then in the fall of 2012, the band entered into the studio to start work on Rise . It is also the first album to feature new guitarist Seth Morrison, after former guitarist Ben Kasica left the band after the release and tour for the album Awake . Lead singer and bassist John Cooper described to CCM Magazine about Rise : "It's a roller coaster ride. We have aggressive tracks, artsy and musical tracks, which is new territory for Skillet. A couple of songs are classic American heartland anthems, and a couple of songs are signature symphonic-classical rock Skillet. Guitars are dirty and edgier, with absolute shredding solos by Seth." According to producer Howard Benson, the album was not meant to be a concept album at first, but suggested making it one after reading Pete Townsend's book on Tommy and Quadrophenia . Cooper was hesitant because the focus on the concept can result in inferior songs. But as the band fine-tuned the songs, a story began to take shape. The first rock single "Sick Of It" was released to iTunes Stores on April 9, 2013. The first Christian radio single "American Noise" was released a week later on April 16, 2013. The title song and "Not Gonna Die" were also released as singles all leading up to the album's release. In all, eight songs have been released to both Christian radio and mainstream rock radio and climbing the Billboard charts between 2013 and 2015. Rise charted on the following albums charts: -# 1   Billboard  Top Christian Albums -# 1   Billboard  Top Alternative Albums -#4  Billboard  200 Albums -#1  Billboard  Top Rock Albums -#1 Billboard Hard Rock Albums The album sold 61,000 copies in its first week of release. Rise also did well internationally in Canada, Japan and Germany. The album finished on the year-end survey in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums in 2013 (#6) and 2014 (#8). Although not as big a seller as Awake was, nevertheless, Rise was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) by July 12, 2016. The track "Not Gonna Die" was the only Gold certified single. A Deluxe Edition of Rise was released the same day as the standard edition, but with three bonus tracks and a DVD of their concert video Awake and Live featuring concert and behind the scenes footage and a "making of" documentary about the making of the album Rise . In 2014, Skillet won their second Dove Award (their first since 2008) for Rock Album of the Year at the 45th GMA Dove Awards. A year later at the 46th GMA Dove Awards, they won the Rock Recorded Song of the Year Dove Award for "Good to Be Alive." Awake is the seventh studio album by the Christian rock band Skillet , released on August 25, 2009 by Ardent Records, INO Records and Lava/Atlantic Records. The album is produced by Howard Benson, who is best known for producing fellow Christian rockers Third Day, P.O.D. and Flyleaf and mainstream acts like Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, The All-American Rejects and My Chemical Romance among others. Mixing was done by Chris Lord-Alge. Awake was a very successful album, even out-selling their predecessor Comatose , by first certified Gold, Platinum and then going Double Platinum selling over two million copies. After finishing the Comatose Tour, Skillet started work on their follow-up album in the fall of 2008. It was recorded at two studios in California. Lead singer and bassist John Cooper wrote more than 40 songs in preparation for the album. Skillet describes Awake as more similar to Comatose with " Classic rock riffs, swirling drums, monstrous hooks, and undeniably catchy choruses... hints of old school progressive rock mixed in with modern alternative flourishes... touches of classical influence as swelling strings intersect with sonic adrenaline rushes." It is the first full-length album to feature new drummer and vocalist Jen Ledger and the last to feature Ben Casica on guitar. Awake was preceded by the lead single "Hero" on May 19, 2009 to both Christian and mainstream rock radio along with a music video. The track was used in several media appearances including the 2009 NFL Kickoff game between the Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers and many other NFL games throughout the 2009 season. "Hero" was included on the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 video game. "Monster" was the second single released two months later and both songs have topped the Christian Rock chart and both songs are the most streamed tracks on Awake with a combined total of 2 billion plays. Their third single "Awake and Alive" was their only charted song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart where it debuted and peaked at number 100 for just one week. It is their third most streamed track with half a billion streams. All three of the mentioned tracks were multi-platinum singles selling over a combined total of 11 million download copies. Awake charted on the following album charts: -#1 Billboard Top Christian Albums -#1 Billboard Top Alternative Albums -#2 Billboard 200 Albums -#2 Billboard Top Rock Albums Awake is tied with two other Christian Rock albums debuting at their highest peak position at number 2 on the Billboard 200: Underoath's 2006 release Define the Great Line and Casting Crowns' 2007 album The Altar and the Door . The Deluxe Edition of Awake on CD features three bonus tracks: "Dead Inside," "Would It Matter" and an alternate radio edit of "Monster." The Japanese Edition also includes a live recording of "Comatose" as a fourth bonus track. A vinyl LP of Awake was released on November 20, 2015 featuring just the 12 tracks as found on the standard version. In 2010, Skillet was nominated for six Dove Awards, the most nominated by the band, including Group of the Year, Artist of the Year and Rock Album of the Year.
