Christmastime (1998)

Updated: Oct 8, 2023

Christmastime is the tenth and second Christmas album by Christian singer-

songwriter Michael W. Smith, released on October 13, 1998 by Reunion Records.

Following up on 1989's Christmas, Smith continues his holiday-themed album featuring some original Christmas songs and traditional Christmas favorites. Christian recording artist Sandi Patty duets with Smith on "The Christmas Waltz" and an instrumental duet with Christian music guitarist Phil Keaggy on "O Christmas Tree." Smith's youngest daughter Anna Smith sings lead in the medley portion of "Away in the Manger." The American Boychoir are featured singers on the track "Carols Sing." Smith co-produced Christmastime with Brown Bannister.

The album peaked at number 5 on the Top Christian Albums, number 4 on the Top Holidays Albums and number 90 on the Top 200 Albums charts in Billboard magazine. Christmastime was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in 2003.
