Say Yes! (1987)

Say Yes! is the fourth studio album by the Christian vocal group NewSong, released on June 9, 1987 by Word Records. The album was produced and arranged by Marc Aramian.

Say Yes! marked NewSong's transition from a Southern Gospel quartet to a CCM pop group. The album contains upbeat songs and soul-stirring ballads. Their second single "What Goes Around Comes Around" gave them their first Top 10 hit on the Christian CHR chart peaking at number 6 and breaking into the Top 20 on the Christian AC chart. Say Yes! also contains an Easter-themed ballad and original recording of the Eddie Carswell composition "Arise My Love." It's centered on the resurrection of Jesus Christ and vividly portrays the scene from Matthew 28, focusing on the moment God the Father calls Jesus to arise, highlighting the victory over death, the earthquake, and the terrified Roman guards. It is considered NewSong's signature song and a concert favorite. CCM Magazine named "Arise My Love" as one of the 100 Greatest Songs in Christian Music in 2006 listing it at number 74. A newly-recorded version of "Arise My Love" later appeared on their 1994 release People Get Ready.

The CD version of Say Yes! contains five select bonus tracks from their 1986 release Trophies of Grace. Sandi Patty covered the opening track "Rejoice" as a CD bonus track on her 1990 Grammy and Dove Award winning album Another Time...Another Place.
