- Worldwide (2003)
Worldwide is the seventh studio album by the Christian modern rock band Audio Adrenaline , released on February 25, 2003 by ForeFront Records. Worldwide sees Audio A forging forward with a wall of sound that merges the band's pop sensibilities with all-out edgy modern rock. Charlie Peacock has produced and arranged the album's five tracks including the lead single "Pierced" with Jason Burkum producing the other six tracks. "Leaving 99" is another hit from the band, pretty much in the vein of "Ocean Floor" with lead vocals done solely by Tyler Burkum. It charted on both the Billboard and Radio & Records Christian radio charts. "Ocean Floor" (from their previous album Lift ) reappears as a Christian AC radio remix version as a bonus track. To go along with the album, a live concert DVD titled Alive was released featuring concert footage of the band performing songs from Worldwide , as well as concert favorites like "Big House" and "Hands and Feet." It was filmed at the Alive Festival at Clay's Park in Canal Fulton, Ohio. Worldwide debuted and peaked at number 4 and number 116 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums and Billboard 200 Albums charts, respectively. In 2004 after four previous nominations, Audio A won their first Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album at the 46th Grammy Awards and were nominated for three Dove Awards for Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year, Rock Recorded Song of the Year for the track "Dirty" and Long Form Video of the Year for their concert DVD Alive . - Lift (2001)
Lift is the sixth studio album by the Christian modern rock band Audio Adrenaline , released on November 20, 2001 by ForeFront Records. The band produced the album themselves. It is Audio A's second release of 2001 (the band released their "best of" compilation album Hit Parade earlier). Lift has the rough feel of 1996's Bloom , but has some upbeat pop tunes like "Beautiful" and "Rejoice." But the album's real highlight is "Ocean Floor." The rock ballad is the best track that talks about forgiveness and leaving behind your sins. The song is sung by Mark Stuart singing the verses and lead guitarist Tyler Burkum singing the chorus and bridge. This is the first time that lead vocal duties were shared by Stuart and Burkum. The album as a whole has a worship feel to most of the tracks, especially that it was released as part of the modern contemporary worship movement at the time with albums by Third Day, Delirious? and Michael W. Smith with his worship albums. Audio A became a four-piece band once again with musician Bob Herdman leaving to run their label Flicker Records, which he co-founded with Stuart and Will McGinniss. Herdman did get involved in the making of Lift as a songwriter and co-wrote the entire album with the band. Audio A purchased a house in Nashville, Tennessee and turned it into a home studio where the album was made. Lift debuted and peaked at number 12 and number 169 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums and Billboard 200 Albums charts, respectively. Audio A has also released an audio/video DVD featuring music videos for "Ocean Floor," "Rejoice" and "Hands and Feet" from Underdog and seven audio tracks, plus interviews and other footage. In 2003, Audio A won a Dove Award for Rock Album of the Year at the 34th GMA Dove Awards. "Ocean Floor" was nominated for Song of the Year and Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year. The album was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Rock Gospel Album. Track listing All songs written by Audio Adrenaline and Bob Herdman. 1. You Still Amaze Me -4:19 2. I'm Alive -3:31 3. - Audio Adrenaline (1992)
Audio Adrenaline is the self-titled debut studio album by the Christian modern rock band Audio Adrenaline , released on April 17, 1992 by ForeFront Records and is distributed by EMI Christian Music Group (now Capitol Christian Music Group). Audio A produced two tracks with Steve Griffith producing the remaining nine songs. According to the band, the album came to be when they met Bob Herdman. The band, which was known as A-180 at the time, had been playing and touring for some time already. Herdman approached them to record a song he had written called "My God" which mixed metal and rap. After they did, they asked Herdman to join the band as their keyboardist. Herdman also suggested they change their name, which they did to Audio Adrenaline. Producer and singer Toby McKeehan (TobyMac from DC Talk ) stumbled upon the recording of "My God," and they met after a DC Talk concert in 1989. McKeehan then brought the tape to the people at ForeFront Records and they decided to sign the band. They then started writing and recording songs in the same vein as "My God," combining rock/pop elements with rap. Kind of a combination of Faith No More and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Audio Adrenaline was a decent beginning for the band but to this day, none of these songs have ever appeared on any of their compilation albums, except for a couple of live performances on their 1995 album Live Bootleg and a re-recorded version of "DC-10" on their 1999 album Underdog , that appeared on their first compilation album Hit Parade . Tracks like "My God" and "DC-10" were the only highlights. The band made their first music video for the song "PDA." "Who Do You Love" and "Audio World" were their first two Top 20 Christian CHR hits. Track listing All songs written by Mark Stuart, Bob Herdman and Barry Blair, except where noted. 1. - Don't Censor Me (1993)
Don't Censor Me is the second studio album by the Christian modern rock band Audio Adrenaline , released on November 16, 1993 by ForeFront Records. The album was produced by Steve Griffith and The Gotee Brothers, which consisted of Toby McKeehan (TobyMac of DC Talk ), Joey Elway and Todd Collins, founders of Gotee Records, producing only two tracks. Don't Censor Me was a much-improved follow up to their self-titled debut , but the band members feel "it still didn't hit the mark." Despite that, Audio A hit the mark at Christian CHR with its first two singles: "My World View" featuring a cameo vocal appearance by DC Talk's Kevin Max and "Big House." It was the latter song that received the most airplay and even a music video was made. "Big House" was a big hit not just at Christian radio but with the youth and teenagers, thanks in part to its sing-a-long chorus. It is their signature song. CCM Magazine ranked the song at number 25 in their 2006 book The 100 Greatest Christian Songs in Christian Music . Other hits followed like "Can't Take God Away" and "Rest Easy" for Christian CHR with "We're a Band" and the title song for Christian Rock radio. Don't Censor Me started climbing the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart in 1994 after a slow start. It peaked at number 11. In 1995, Audio A released their first Video EP on VHS titled Big House featuring behind-the-scenes footage and music videos for "Big House," "We're a Band," "A.K.A. Public School" and "PDA" from their first album. The video for "A.K.A. Public School" features an appearance by DC Talk playing the "three cool guys" at a high school basketball tournament. That same year, the band received their first Dove Award nominations for Rock Album of the Year, Rock Recorded Song of the Year and Short Form Music Video of the Year, both for "Big House." The following year, the band won their first Dove Award for Long Form Music Video of the Year for Big House . In 2021, ForeFront reissued Don't Censor Me on vinyl as a limited edition through Girder Music featuring an adrenaline orange marble swirl picture LP, limited to just 300 copies.
