Walk On is the ninth studio album by the Christian male vocal group 4Him , released on October 30, 2001. It is the first of two albums by 4Him released on the Word Records label, after being on the Benson label for more than ten years. Walk On was released nearly a month after Benson issued the "best of" compilation album Chapter One...A Decade . The album is produced by Mark Heimermann and Brent Bourgeois. The first single "Psalm 112" would give the group their final number one song on the Christian AC chart from R&R ( Radio & Records ). Obvious is the seventh studio album by the Christian music male vocal group 4Him , released on April 7, 1998 by Benson Records. The album is produced by the group themselves with Bill Baumgart and Michael Omartian. On Obvious , each member took more ownership of their music and became more involved in the production and songwriting aspects. Mark Harris, who is the main principled songwriter of 4Him since 1990, has co-written ten of the album's 11 tracks with two songs he wrote by himself. Andy Chrisman co-wrote the track "Signs and Wonders" and Marty Magehee has co-written two songs, all with Harris. 4Him and Baumgart produced seven songs while Omartian produced four songs. This is the first album in which Don Koch has not been involved in the production of this album, as he has done in previous albums. The Message is the sixth studio album by the Christian music male vocal group 4Him , released in 1996 on Benson Records. The group themselves got involved in production, co-producing the album with Bill Baumgart, along with returning producers Don Koch, Michael Omartian and Peter Wolf. With The Message , 4Him changed their overall sound in an effort to keep pushing the creative limits of the group. The guys replaced the over-the-top orchestrations and choral vocal arrangements with a stripped down, acoustic band approach where one of the guys would sing lead and the other three would sing backing vocals. 4Him earned their first (and only) Grammy nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for this project. 4Him member Mark Harris co-wrote all but one of the songs on The Message . The Basics of Life is the third studio album by the Christian music male vocal group 4Him , released on September 16, 1992 by Benson Records. The Basics of Life was a best seller, giving the group their first and only Gold record by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of 500,000 copies in 1996. CCM Magazine ranked this album at number 66 in their 2001 book The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music . The album is a combination of all their strengths of previous efforts with a convincing thematic appeal to return to the traditional values of days gone by. The men of 4Him invited their fathers to join them on the Mark Harris/Don Koch-penned "Built on Amazing Grace," using the classic hymn as a bridge not only for the song but as a connection between the present and the past. First Call is the ninth studio album by First Call , released on August 6, 1996. It is the second and final album they released on the Warner Bros. Christian/Gospel label Warner Alliance. The duo of Marty McCall and Bonnie Keen co-produced the album with Darrell Brown and two tracks with co-production by Cheryl Rogers. It is their sixth non-holiday album and the second album consisting of McCall and Keen as a duo. The album reflects the other side of healing; the pain is fading and it's time to move forward. The opening track and lead single, "Let the Healing Begin," sets the tone for the album and features guest artists like Veritas on "The Prize," Michael McDonald and Amy Holland on "Will I Find Love" and the R&B a capella vocal group Take 6 on "Sunrise on Ararat." Beyond December is the eighth studio and third Christmas album by First Call . Released on October 10, 1995, it is the first of two albums on the Warner Bros. Christian/Gospel label Warner Alliance. After the departure of vocalist Marabeth Jordan, the remaining members Marty McCall and Bonnie Keen continued on as a duo. This is First Call's third Christmas release but unlike the previous two Christmas albums An Evening in December and An Evening in December, Volume II , which they sang a capella, Beyond December features musical instruments and some programming but their voices still take center stage, with the exception of the a capella original track "Born a Sacrifice" featuring, at the time, former original member Melodie Tunney with David Maddux. The album also features other guest vocalists like Amy Grant and her first husband Gary Chapman , Russ Taff , Larnelle Harris , Wayne Watson and Ashley Cleveland. Beyond December consists of a couple of new arrangements: "In the Quiet of a Silent Night" with lyrics adapted from "Silent Night" and "Child in The Manger" featuring guest vocals by Grant and Chapman is based on the hymn "Morning Has Broken." The album also consists of some original songs like "After December Slips Away" and Christmas tunes like "What Child Is This" featuring guest vocals by Harris. Beyond December peaked at number 32 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. The duo co-produced the album with Darrell Brown, along with Wayne Kirkpatrick and Phil Naish. Track listing 1.
