  • Jekyll & Hyde (2003)

Jekyll & Hyde is the twentieth studio album by the Christian rock band Petra . It was released on August 19, 2003 and is their second album on Inpop Records. The title of the album is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 novella Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde . Newsboys lead singer and founder of Inpop Records Peter Furler handles the production duties as well as play drums on the album, after the departure of Petra drummer Louie Weaver. F ans started sending e-mails to the record company asking them for a more straightforward rock album. Inpop agreed to the idea and they started working on Jekyll & Hyde . With just the duo of Petra founder and guitarist Bob Hartman and lead singer John Schlitt, the band hired Greg Bailey as a bassist, but only sang backing vocals on this album and Bailey collaborated with Hartman in writing the song "Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda." Hartman has written all ten songs and brought in members of the Newsboys and some studio musicians to fill in the rhythm section. Jekyll & Hyde returns Petra to the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart peaking at number 22. A Spanish version called Jekyll & Hyde en Español was released the following year. Petra earned their final Grammy nomination for Jekyll & Hyde as Best Rock Gospel Album. • Fuel on the Fire (1986)

Fuel on the Fire is the third release and the second studio album by Christian singer -songwriter Morgan Cryar , released in 1986 on Star Song Records. The title of the album comes from the first single "Pray In the U.S.A." in which Cryar sings "they're pouring fuel on the fire/tryin' to stop what God desires." The song would become a signature song for Cryar and would top the Christian Rock chart. Cryar co-wrote the song with guitarist Ty Tabor of the hard rock band King's X. Fuel On The Fire 's whole album is rock-oriented than his 1984 debut Keep No Secrets mixing rock songs ("I Need the Rock" and "I Gotta Know") with some pop ballads ("Underneath Your Feet" and "Hideaway") also including the lite reggae pop song "Sibling Rivalry." The album is produced by Roy Salmond and with songwriting collaborations from Tabor and fellow King's X drummer and lead singer Doug Pinnick as well as John Andrew Schreiner. Fuel On The Fire peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart making his first album chart appearance. It is the only album by Cryar to be made available digitally. In 1987, Cryar was nominated for two Dove Awards for New Artist of the Year (originally titled the Horizon Award) and Short Form Music Video of the Year for "Pray In the U.S.A." On May 28, 2025, Girder Music reissued and remastered Fuel on the Fire as a collector's edition on CD for a limited time featuring an 8-page booklet with complete lyrics on a jewel case, a beautifully designed collectors sleeve, and a collectors card. • Keep No Secrets (1984)

Keep No Secrets is the second release and national debut album by Christian singer -songwriter Morgan Cryar , released in late 1984 on Star Song Records. Keep No Secrets was, according to Mark Allen Powell on his book Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music , "an acoustic pop masterpiece." There was nothing acoustic about the album. It was more of a contemporary pop album featuring programming and drum machine arrangements. Produced by Jonathan David Brown who is best known for producing albums by Twila Paris and Petra . The album featured radio hits "I Get Carried Away" and "A Few of My Old Friends" and did moderately well on Christian radio. It also features the ballad "Holy Fire" with guest vocals by Jayne Farrell of the husband and wife duo Farrell and Farrell and written by Cryar and Paris. The album has not been released on CD. The tracks "Holy Fire," "I Get Carried Away" and "A Few of My Old Friends" are the only tracks to appear on CD and digitally on his 1998 compilation album What Sin? A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article. In 2025, Keep No Secrets was reissued and remastered for a limited time on CD by Girder Music. • A Room Full of Stories (1997)

A Room Full of Stories is the fifth studio album by Christian singer/songwriter/ guitarist Wes King . It was released on March 14, 1997 and is his only album on Sparrow Records. Wayne Kirkpatrick and Ben Wisch produced five tracks each. After five years on Reunion Records, King made his fifth album on the Sparrow label for this release. A Room Full of Stories returns to the autobiographical, experimental tone of his early material. The opening track, "Simplify," deals with the common habit of living a life filled with too many commitments. "Remember" recalls the day when King answered an alter call. The poignant ballad "Thought You'd Be Here" is about a couple who are unable to produce a child and King sings a simple lullaby to the child that the husband and wife have long to have. Those above mentioned songs were King's final Christian radio hits. A Room Full of Stories peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.
