Odyssey is the second official compilation album by Christian singer-songwriter David Meece . Released in 1995, it is Meece's third and final release on Star Song Records. This collection contains fifteen previously released songs and one brand new track "God's Promises/Rainbows in the Night." The new track's intro features Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel. In the CD linear notes, Meece dedicated the album "to those who are wearied by the doubt, loneliness and pain of living in a world more adept at accepting evil than expecting good." Meece calls these songs "God's promises" and it's a journey to get to know God more even in the midst of struggles and finding rainbows of peace above the storms of life. Odyssey includes "One Small Child," a Christmas recording from the 1990 various artists album Our Christmas . It's a song he wrote when Meece was eighteen years old. NOTE: "God's Promises/Rainbows in the Night" would be David Meece's final single to Christian radio giving him his final Top 10 hit climbing to number 8 on The CCM Update Christian AC chart. At the time, Meece was working on his next album that was titled Send Down the Rain that was to be released in 1996, but Star Song Records was going through some personnel changes and Meece was dropped from the label and the album remains unreleased. Once in a Lifetime is the ninth studio album by Christian singer -songwriter David Meece . Released in 1993, it is his second album on Star Song Records and his first in three years. Six of the nine tracks were released as radio singles in 1993 and 1994. Meece co-produced the album with Brian Tankersley. Meece's wife Deborah plays the viola on the song "Going Home" and co-wrote "Every Little Step" and the title song, plus Meece's daughter Kelly provides guest vocals on the song "My Father's Chair." Learning to Trust is the eighth studio album by Christian singer -songwriter David Meece . It was released in late 1989, but the radio singles started in 1990. This is also Meece's first album on Star Song Records, after being on Myrrh Records for more than ten years. It is considered Meece's most personal album to date and his very best. The opening section of the song "This Time" as well as the bridge and ending tag, is from Frédéric Chopin's "Étude Op. 10, No. 12" in C minor. Eight songs from Learning to Trust were released as singles to Christian radio in 1990 and 1991. While producer and songwriter Shane Keister produced "Interlude in B Minor" and "The Rest of My Life," Meece's long-time producer Brown Bannister produced the rest of the album. Candle in the Rain is the seventh studio album by Christian singer -songwriter David Meece . This album would be his last on Word Records' Myrrh label after more than ten years, and was released in 1987. Meece once again collaborates with Gino and Joe Vannelli producing five tracks. The Vannelli brothers previously worked with Meece on the two new tracks on his 1986 compilation album Chronology . The team of Brian Tankersley and Rhett Lawrence produced two tracks, Brown Bannister and Jonathan David Brown produced one track each. Are You Ready? is the fourth studio album by Christian singer -songwriter David Meece , released in 1980 on Myrrh/Word Records. This was Meece's first charting album on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart, at the time it was called Top Inspirational Albums climbing to number 3. The song "We Are the Reason" was his signature song and he would perform it in his concerts and still to this day after more than 45 years. The song has been covered by many artists and sung in several languages. CCM Magazine ranks the song at number 63 in their 2006 book The 100 Greatest Songs in Christian Music . It is a collection of uplifting and inspiring songs of worship. The record features a variety of popular Christian artists of the time including Russ Taff , The Imperials , David Meece , and Kathy Troccoli among others, performing a mix contemporary and traditional praise songs. The Praise in Us won the Dove Award for Praise and Worship Album of the Year given to producer Joseph at the 1985 GMA Dove Awards. Greatest Hits 1986-2004 is a compilation album by Christian singer-songwriter Amy Grant , released on October 12, 2004 by Word/Curb/Warner Bros. Records and A&M Records/Universal Music. It is Grant's second official compilation album (her first since 1986's The Collection ). It contains two previously unreleased songs: "The Water" and "Come Be With Me" featuring musician Keb' Mo'. "Come Be With Me" is a song that was recorded for her 1997 album Behind the Eyes , but at the time of this album's release, it was an unreleased track until 2022 when it was included on the 25th Anniversary Expanded Edition of Behind the Eyes . The album also contains her cover of 10cc's 1977 hit "Things We Do for Love" recorded for the 1996 motion picture Mr. Wrong . A companion DVD called Greatest Videos 1986-2004 features Grant's music videos starting with "The Next Time I Fall" with Peter Cetera in 1986 up to "Simple Things" in 2003, along with alternate versions and remixes. The album peaked at number 3 on the Top Christian Albums and number 48 on the Billboard 200 Albums charts. This would be her final album with the A&M label. Due to the release being sold as a limited edition, it is the only compilation album from Grant's catalog to be out of print.
