  • Behind the Eyes (1997)

Behind the Eyes is the twelfth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Amy Grant, released on September 9, 1997 by Myrrh/Word Records and A&M Records. The album was produced by Keith Thomas and Wayne Kirkpatrick. Issued near the end of Grant's marriage to Christian singer - songwriter Gary Chapman, many of the songs on Behind the Eyes reflect Grant's struggles in her marriage and all relate to a theme of optimism. The album peaked at number 2 on the Top Christian Albums and number 8 on the Billboard 200 Albums charts. And on the Billboard 200, it was Grant's highest-placed non-Christmas album, compared to 1991's Heart in Motion (No. 10) and 2013's How Mercy Looks From Here (No. 12). The album was listed at number 44 in the 2001 book The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music by CCM Magazine. The first single and music video "Takes a Little Time" was a Top 5 hit on the Billboard AC chart and climbed to the Top 40 on both the Hot 100 Airplay and Adult Top 40 charts. The song was released as a CD Maxi-Single but only to the Christian retail market, thus the reason why it was not commercially released to the mainstream market and not qualified on the Hot 100 chart at the time. The maxi-single contains two Behind the Eyes tracks "Takes a Little Time" and "Somewhere Down the Road" and a new recording of her Age to Age track "El Shaddai." The album is more acoustic-driven, leaving behind the polished pop productions of her two previous 1990s albums, Heart in Motion and House of Love. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for half a million copies sold in the United States and in 1998 Grant won a Dove Award for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year for Behind the Eyes. In 2007, the album was digitally remastered and reissued by Sparrow Records/EMI-Christian Music Group. NOTE: on this expanded edition, "Somewhere Down the Road" has an extra 47 seconds added bringing its running time to 5:56 where the song ends, as opposed to the original 1997 track's running time of 5:09 where the track fades out. Track listing 1. Nobody Home (Glen Ballard, Siedah Garrett) -3:37 2. I Will Be Your Friend (Dane DeViller, Sean Hosein, Michelle Lewis) -4:00 3. The expanded reissue includes the original 12-song album, previously unreleased songs and demos from the original album's sessions, b-sides, bonus tracks and re-recordings of previously released songs, released on 2 CDs, a 3 LP vinyl set and digitally on music purchasing and streaming platforms. Four of those bonus tracks and unreleased songs have been heard on subsequent releases; "Come Be With Me" (featuring Keb' Mo') was previously released on her 2004 compilation album Greatest Hits 1986-2004, the original recording of "Carry You" was featured on the 1997 various artists compilation album WOW 1998. The tracks "What is the Chance of That" and "Come Into My World" were both on her 2010 album Somewhere Down the Road. All tracks were produced by Wayne Kirkpatrick, except for the 2022 versions of "Turn This World Around" and "I Will Be Your Friend," which both tracks were produced by Keith Thomas. The album was preceded by three singles: "Holy Forever" was released on October 6, 2023, "That's My King" on February 2, 2024 and "Come Jesus Come" on March 15, 2024. More Than This topped both the Christian and Gospel Albums charts in Billboard magazine and debuted and peaked at number 196 on the Billboard 200 Albums charts, marking her first appearance on that chart since Let Them Fall in Love in 2017 where it peaked at number 103. At the 55th GMA Dove Awards, CeCe won Artist of the Year and Gospel Worship Album of the Year, with her cover of "Holy Forever" winning Song of the Year and awarded to its writers. In 2025, she won two Grammy Awards for Best Gospel Album and its track "That's My King" won Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the 67th Grammy Awards. On March 14, 2025, a new studio version of "Come Jesus Come" featuring gospel legend Shirley Caesar was released as a stand-alone track available for digital download and streaming platforms. • The Passionate Pursuit (1991)

The Passionate Pursuit is the 12th studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Scott Wesley Brown, released in late December 1991 by Word Records. The album was produced by Tom Wanca. The Passionate Pursuit musically continues his transition into an early-1990s pop-rock and adult contemporary sound while focusing heavily on praise, global missions, and spiritual commitment. The album features 11 tracks that blend vertical worship anthems with call-to-action songs. Tracks like "Creator," "Elohim," and "Righteous and Holy" are built as direct songs of praise, focusing heavily on Hebrew names of God and creation. In keeping with Brown's real-life role as a missions advocate, songs like "Into the World" and "Who Will Stand in the Gap" function as direct challenges for Christians to enter the mission field. The Passionate Pursuit serves as Brown's third and final release on the Word Records label. The album is not available on digital platforms. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article. Track listing 1. Creator (Scott Wesley Brown, Dwight Liles, Tom Wanca) -4:24 2. Tower of Pride (Scott Wesley Brown) -2:58 3. • Living in the Comfort Zone (1990)

Living in the Comfort Zone is the 11th studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Scott Wesley Brown. It was released on July 10, 1990 and is the second of three albums Brown released on the Word Records label. Brown co-produced it with Tom Wanca. Living in the Comfort Zone moves Brown away from the heavily-orchestrated inspirational music as he enters the 1990s with an adult contemporary/pop album. The songs and lyrics focus on Christian social responsibilities, ethics, and challenging believers to step out of their personal complacency, hence the title. The title song serves as a convicting critique of Western Christian complacency and materialism. Rather than offering typical comforting praise, the song directly challenges believers who prioritize financial security, luxury, and easy religion over active faith and global mission work. The album's lead single "Marvelous" features members of the Christian R&B a cappella sextet Take 6 on backing vocals. The song departs from the album's primary focus on social critique to offer a joyful, celebratory anthem of praise and global evangelism. It was Brown's final Top 5 song on The CCM Update's Christian AC chart peaking at number 2. "Marvelous" and the title song were Brown's final appearances on the Christian CHR chart as both were Top 20 hits. Living in the Comfort Zone is the only album from the Word/Curb album catalog to be made available on digital platforms, where as the other Word releases To the Ends of the Earth and The Passionate Pursuit are not available, but by way of YouTube links. • To the Ends of the Earth (1988)

To the Ends of the Earth is the tenth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Scott Wesley Brown. It is the first of three albums Brown has recorded under the Word Records label after his 10-year recording career on Sparrow Records ended and was released on October 18, 1988. The album was produced by Greg Nelson. To the Ends of the Earth continues Brown's theme of global Christian missions, evangelism, and sacrificial faith, blending soft rock and pop-ballad musical styles. The second track and further single "Look What God Is Doing" is an upbeat-anthem style song that encourages Christians to step out in faith and witness God's power actively changing lives across the world. The chorus emphasizes a joyous celebration of God's movement across the globe. A music video was made for the track. "Look What God Is Doing" went to number one on the Christian AC chart, giving Brown his third and final number one song overall. The lead single "My Eyes Have Seen Salvation" was written by Brown, Steven Curtis Chapman and songwriter Niles Borop, about the personal and global redemption, framing the realization of Christ as a move from blind faith to absolute spiritual clarity. "God's People" is a collaborative track featuring Larnelle Harris, Hobson Myers, and Barbi & Harlan Moore providing guest vocals. "They That Wait" was written by Ashley Cleveland and Phil Madeira and features Cleveland on guest vocals. "Please Don't Send Me to Africa," co-written with musician and songwriter Phill McHugh, is a humorous, satirical, yet ultimately poignant song about a believer's fear of being called to uncomfortable foreign mission fields, ending in total surrender to God's will. To the Ends of the Earth is not available on digital platforms. A YouTube link to listen to the album is posted below this article. Track listing 1. The Language of Jesus Is Love is the ninth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Scott Wesley Brown, released on April 9, 1987 by Sparrow Records. The album was produced by Greg Nelson. The Language of Jesus Is Love serves as Brown's final album on Sparrow Records after being on the label for 10 years, seven albums and one compilation release. The album contains just nine songs focusing on themes of grace, missions, and global ministry. Its overall sound is adult contemporary with a mix a ballads, anthems and mid-tempo songs making it fit alongside worship and devotional formats rather than high-energy rock. • Find Us Faithful (1988)

Find Us Faithful is the fifth studio album by Christian singer Steve Green, released on May 23, 1988 by Sparrow Records. The album was produced by Greg Nelson. Released nearly two years after his bestseller For God and God Alone, Find Us Faithful finds Green embracing his inspirational sound with some light touches of adult contemporary and middle-of-the road (MOR) music. Songwriting contributions include Michael W. Smith, Michael Card, Gloria Gaither and Jon Mohr. Green was the first to record the Twila Paris hymn-like track "For the Glory of the Lord." Paris herself later recorded her song on her 1988 album For Every Heart. The album also features guest appearances by Green's wife Marijean Green singing a duet called "Cherish the Treasure," CCM singer - songwriter Kelly Willard provides guest vocals on "He Who Began a Good Work in You" and American country/bluegrass musician Ricky Skaggs provides guest vocals on "The Word." Find Us Faithful peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. In 1989, Green earned his fourth and final Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance, Male for this album and at the Dove Awards, Green was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Artist of the Year. • Kingdom of Love (1984)

Kingdom of Love is the seventh studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Scott Wesley Brown, released on September 10, 1984 by Sparrow Records. The album was produced by Greg Nelson and Phil Naish. This is the second album Brown has released, as he has put out his compilation album All My Best back in April of that year. Kingdom of Love achieved significant success in Christian music circles, due to its lead single "Yeshua Ha Mashiach." The song's title translates from Hebrew to mean "Jesus the Messiah" or "Jesus the Anointed One." The lyrics open with an observer stepping into a crowded room to see a teacher with "calloused hands" and "dust upon His feet," surrounded by twelve close friends. While the narrator initially only visits out of curiosity, they notice the teacher staring deeply into them. The narrator whispers to a nearby woman to ask who the man is, and she replies with the chorus phrase: "Yeshua Ha Mashiach, the image of I Am...". Even though the song has a worship style chorus, the music is contemporary and upbeat. "Yeshua Ha Mashiach" was Brown's second number one hit after his previous 1982 -83 hit "He Will Carry You." The song (written by Greg Davis and Greg Fisher) was nominated for a Dove Award for Song of the Year in 1985. The title song serves as the second single. Written primarily as a missionary anthem by Brown and White Heart's Billy Smiley and Mark Gersmehl, the song centers on the global Christian mandate to spread the Gospel, offer humanitarian support, and serve impoverished nations. A music video was made for the song in co-operation with Mission Aviation Fellowship, a Christian organization that provides aviation, communications, and learning technology services to more than 1,000 Christian and humanitarian agencies, as well as thousands of isolated missionaries and indigenous villagers in the world's most remote areas. Brown does not appear in the video, but uses the song as motivation and urges volunteers to go out into the mission fields. • Signature (1982)

Signature is the sixth studio album by Christian singer - songwriter Scott Wesley Brown, released on September 16, 1982 by Sparrow Records. The album was produced by Dan Collins. Signature was, in some ways, a breakthrough album due to the success of the album's only Christian radio single and Brown's first number one hit "He Will Carry You." The track functions as an inspirational ballad designed to offer comfort, reassurance, and spiritual strength to those going through personal hardships. The lyrics explicitly incorporate Jesus' words from Matthew 11:28: "Come unto Me, all who are weary, and I will give you rest." "He Will Carry You" was nominated for a Dove Award for Song of the Year and Brown was nominated for Songwriter of the Year, two years in a row in each category in 1983 and 1984. It became a signature song for Brown as has performed this song at his concerts and still performs it to this day. In 2006, "He Will Carry You" was listed at number 95 on CCM Magazine's book The 100 Greatest Songs in Christian Music. The rest of the album features backing vocals from Amy Grant, Gary Chapman, Kathy Troccoli, producer Collins and his wife, singer Jamie Owens Collins, Kelly Willard and Marty McCall, who at the time was the lead singer of the Christian pop rock band Fireworks and later a member of First Call. Signature is not available on digital platforms. Tracks from the album like "He Will Carry You" is available on digital platforms on his two compilation releases, All My Best and The Scott Wesley Brown Collection.
